If someone is looking for an elite boutique Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa or Sonoma, then they need to look no further than Fisher Vineyards! Produced exclusively from estate fruit still farmed by the founding family, these premium wines continue to deliver excellence vintage after vintage.
Fisher Vineyards is a true pioneer on Spring Mountain, having been cleared by Fred and Juelle Fisher for their Wedding and Mountain Estate Vineyards in 1973 and using the lumber from the trees taken down to create their winery. Shortly after, they purchased and planted their Coach Insignia Vineyard in Calistoga. The estate has some of the most breathtaking views in all of California.
The Wedding Vineyard is lower on their property and is so named because it is indeed the site where much of the Fisher family exchanged vows. The Mountain Estate Vineyard is situated at a higher elevation on Spring Mountain and produces excellent Estate Chardonnay as well. Both Cabernets are powerful as would be expected from mountain fruit, but with an old-school California elegance. The current library release of 2005 Wedding Vineyard Cabernet proves that these are wines built for the long haul! Their Coach Insignia is also wine with great structure, but with an extreme silkiness coming from valley fruit.
Although these should be part of any Collector’s cellar, they are certainly enjoyable now, but a bit of decanting is recommended. A bottle of Wedding Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is the perfect gift to give a couple for them to celebrate future anniversaries!
